Social Media is a wonderful thing, but what people tend to overlook the fact that you and I and everyone around us are social mediums too.
That’s always been the case, and our content – if you like – has been in things like our clothes and makeup, our homes, art, letters etc. In a digital universe our identities no longer conclude at the physical, but extend into our conversation and throughout our  interactions on the web.
Yes, everything – from our photos, tweets, status updates, youtube videos…our search entries, blog posts and emails….everything constitutes a medium of some sort and even our self. The content is how we talk. What we wear. What we drink. Where our friends hang out. Who we tweet. It’s the photos we take and share, and the places we choose to eat.
Now we create our own content – as a medium or vehicle of information – to filter, create, connect and communicate whatever it is that you consider important. It’s important to remember that, when it comes to social media people are the ends and means of it all. That’s just being enhanced more and more by the technologies we create, that serve to extend and enhance our selves as catalysts for information flow.
The most important social medium, is you.
